Rustic Wooden Block Pumpkins

When you enjoy crafting with wood you tend to have lots of scraps laying around with no clue what to do with them. This is the perfect seasonal craft to do with any size scrap 4 x4 post. I just think they are just so darn cute!

Materials you’ll need:

Scrap wood ( 4×4 post)

Paint

Scissors

Sticks

Burlap

Hot glue gun

Sand paper (optional)

Step 1.

Gather up all your scrap wood of any size. Preferably many different sizes. I think thats what gives a centerpiece a bit of depth. Decide whether you want to smooth the surface out a little or not. It’s completely up to you. Sanding with a fine grit paper just adds a little bit of a more finished look to them. Or you could go with a coarse grit and really get an extreme rustic look by roughing up the sides and edges a little. I personally love the rustic but not too tattered look of the wood as it is naturally.

Step 2.

Paint your pumpkins in a festive color using acrylic craft paint.

Step 3.

Cut your sticks to the preferred length for the pumpkin stems.

Step 4.

Once the blocks have all dried use a warmed up hot glue gun to attach the stems to the top of the pumpkins.

Step 5.

Use the scissors to cut out some leaf shapes from the burlap fabric and use a dab of hot glue to attach the leaves to the pumpkin around the stem.

And there you have it! Some super cute quick and easy upcycled scrap wood pumpkins. These look so adorable on a mantel or in a table top centerpiece.

You tell me, are these cute or what?

Happy Crafting lovely people!
