Fall Porch Decorating!

Well, it’s that time of year again! Crunchy leaves, boots, brisk mornings and cooler nights. Oh and, of course, pumpkin spiced everything! I’m talking about FALL y’all!

Even though I am not fond of colder weather and will be very sad to see summer go, there are a lot of things I love about Autumn! At the top of the list is Fall decorating!!

I love love love seeing all the rich yellows, vibrant oranges, rustic browns, deep reds, and fading greens splattered all around on trees making Fall seem like a wonderful symphony of colors harmonizing perfectly to create a breathtaking masterpiece that you could listen to over and over again.

All of this natural beauty is complemented by exquisitely arranged wreaths and squash of all different colors, shapes, and sizes placed just so on adorably organized front porches. It makes me happy to see it all!

For a while now, I’ve wanted to participate in this beautiful tradition! Now that we are settled and no longer saving money for a wedding and honeymoon, I knew I would enjoy decorating our porch!

I got most of my inspiration from Pinterest, like I do for most everything! After searching “Fall Porch Décor”, I clicked through tons of remarkably decked-out front porches to get some ideas that would work well on our modest little porch. It’s not very big, so, I worked with what I had!

I knew for certain that I had to have some hay bales. There’s something about them that makes the porch feel so fun and inviting, like a memory of taking a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve!

To add that extra bit of pumpkin-patch nostalgia I adorned each bale with a pumpkin on top and another right in front. I also added some very quirky, shaped squash to give a variety of color. I love this deep green squash. It’s so cute!

I made our “Welcome” sign from some scrap wood from an old picnic table the hubby and I refinished recently. The letters are cut from my Cricut machine using the font Cricut Alphabet. After cutting the letters out, I used Mod Podge to adhere them to the board. The wreath was a project posted on Michaels Arts & Crafts Store web page. You can find the link here. I didn’t follow it exactly, but, I love how it turned out!

To really give the porch a pop of color, I decided on some gorgeous bright yellow and orangish red mums. The yellow mums are from Harris Teeter at 2/$10 and are in front of the steps. I planted the orangish red mums in our hanging planters. I bought six plants for $2.98 at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

It was so much fun planning, crafting, and decorating this porch! To be honest, I was a little sad when it was done. I need more porches to decorate!!! That’s not going to happen anytime soon. Oh well, there are always other seasons/holidays to start planning for! I hope you all enjoyed this short tour of our Fall porch. I would love to see pictures of yours! Post them in the comments!
